Each cash drawers lock and locking mechanism is fully tested at APG prior to shipment. Most cash drawers include a standard-grade lock built in to the cash drawers faceplate. When this is happening, the Square Register still shows the USB cash drawer connected and allows for testing (which doesn't open the drawer either).
